William Cooper diary, 1764-1766.

Diary of William Cooper, town clerk of Boston, kept from 12 Aug. 1764 - 5 Oct. 1766. The diary includes weekly entries of sermons he heard (delivered by his brother, Rev. Samuel Cooper), and thoughts on his personal spiritual life. Also included are comments on family and community including deaths, travels and visits, his reappointment as town clerk in 1765, the Boston Stamp Act riots, and the eventual repeal of the Stamp Act.
